What Sets TrustedID Apart?

One of the details that stands out the most about TrustedID Identity theft protection is the fact that there does not seem to be a way to sign up for those services. Their website is pretty generic.

Another thing that makes TrustedID stand out is its status as a subsidiary of one of the three credit bureaus, Equifax. This provides a perceived inside edge with that bureau and its credit records.

Key Features

Some of TrustedID’s key features include:

  • Dark Web Monitoring
  • Identity Theft Insurance
  • Credit Monitoring & Alerts
  • SSN Monitoring

Pricing & Packages

Two review sources – not the TrustedID website – report that there are two available packages for Identity theft protection services from TrustedID. It is not possible to confirm this however as several attempts to contact the company regarding their identity theft protection services have gone unanswered and unreturned. Furthermore, attempts to determine the status of available packages through email have also gone unaddressed.

If these plans are still available, the level of services listed is rather meager for the price when compared to other identity theft protection plans available through other providers.

Current Deal

After the 2017 Data Breach at Equifax, they offered a package called TrustedID Premier for a year at no cost. However, the free year offer needed to be signed up for by January 31 of 2018, to be valid. There are no listed deals – or packages for that matter – on the TrustedID website.

About TrustedID

Founded in Palo Alto, California in 2005, TrustedID was acquired by Equifax – one of the three credit bureaus – in 2013. Since then it has been marketed to other businesses as a service for them to provide to their employees and members.

As Equifax’s major avenue of reparations to the untold number of Americans who had their personally identifying information compromised in the 2017 data breach, TrustedID became a household name. In fact, every United States citizen was invited to take advantage of their services for free. Check out the full review of TrustedID here.
