What Sets LifeShield Apart

PLEASE NOTE: The following information is for LifeShield security, which is now a part of ADT Home Security. If you would like to read the full review of ADT, please click here.

These DIY security systems come stacked with 24/7 professional monitoring, no upfront equipment costs, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Choose from three main packages, with just enough equipment options to keep you happy. While you can go month-to-month, a 3-year term is required to get the free gear. Also, the customer service isn’t stellar, and they don’t offer home automation or third-party integration. See what our experts say in our LifeShield Security review.

        About LifeShield Security

Headquartered in Pennsylvania, LifeShield was founded in 2002 by technological innovator Louis Stilip. He had been trying to find a good security system for his family and was frustrated with the current options on the market. So, Stilip decided to create an alternative for people like him who want affordable, yet technologically advanced home security.

The company was initially named InGrid Home Security and later changed to LifeShield. Since that time, LifeShield has continued to refine its product. The result is an affordable, state-of-the-art home security that can be customized for every need. Check out the full review of LifeShield here.

        24/7 Monitoring
        24/7 MONITORING

LifeShield offers 24/7 professional monitoring for burglary, carbon monoxide and fire.

        Wireless Equipment

LifeShield’s wireless security technology provides solid protection. It features "Four Layers of Protection," which provides cellular, internet, battery and phone backup.

        Surveillance Cameras

LifeShield’s wireless video cameras can record live video, take snapshots and record videos when triggered by motion. Users can log into the LifeShield app and view live video feeds and take snapshots at any time. The images and videos may be downloaded onto a computer at any time.

        Mobile Alerts

You can choose to receive mobile or email alerts whenever an alarm or sensor is triggered in your home. LifeShield’s app also allows you to receive notifications when an alarm goes off.

        Power Outage Protection

With LifeShield’s “Four Layers of Protection,” you’re covered in the event of a power or internet failure. Even if the phone lines are cut, the alarm system will still operate.

        DIY Installation

LifeShield is a self-installed system that is easy to set up. It takes less than an hour to get everything up and running. If you prefer not to install the system yourself, you can opt for professional installation at an additional fee.

        Disaster Protection

In the event that your carbon monoxide or fire detector goes off, LifeShield will notify the fire department. LifeShield’s disaster protection works with your current smoke, fire and carbon monoxide equipment so you don’t have to replace your existing detectors with pricey ones.

        Remote Control

Every system comes with a remote control that fits onto your keychain. You can use the remote to arm and disarm your system. Each keychain remote can be assigned to a specific user, which makes it easy to track who is coming and going from your home.
