Vivint
Picking up a Vivint home security package may be tempting if you’re thinking of investing in a more robust wired home security system. This week Vivint is offering some big Cyber Monday savings. For the next few hours, when you sign up for a Vivint home security package, you get a free video doorbell, a free professional installation (they usually run $199), and three months of monitoring on the house, which would normally cost between $90 and $135.
ADT
The biggest name in home security isn’t what we’d call cheap, which is why Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the days to score your new ADT security system. We didn’t see any monster savings this year, but ADT is throwing around Nest Doorbells, Outdoor Nest Cams, and Nest Hubs (2nd Gen) like they’re confetti. If you sign up for one of their Video and Smart Home packages in the next few hours, you can swipe up all three for nothing. (That’s $650 in free products if you’re counting.)
Pro Tip: Wired or wireless, which do you need? Actually, for your security equipment both are reliable. (Plenty of our household connections are wireless.) But for your monitoring service, we always recommend a provider with a cellular connection to its emergency center.
When Is Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
The day after Thanksgiving, a.k.a., Black Friday, is the official kick-off to the Christmas holiday shopping season. This is a great time to shop for home security equipment. (Don’t worry, you can still hide all your shiny new security tech under the Christmas tree — though we kind of recommend installing it ASAP.)
The problem a lot of excited home security shoppers face come Black Friday is FOMOD (Fear of Missing Out on Deals). We guarantee you won’t, as long as you follow our announcements here. (Remember to bookmark us!)

Black Friday
This year Black Friday falls on November 25, 2022. Besides year-topping home security deals on their latest models, many top home security brands will also float attractive deals on their monitoring services and accessories, including extended warranties and sometimes free shipping.
Cyber Monday
This year Cyber Monday is on November 28, 2022. Just like Black Friday, Cyber Monday is also a day for slashed prices and once-a-year sales, typically on online purchases. Interestingly, we tend to see the best rates and discounts on security systems and smart home devices on Cyber Monday, so holding off an extra three days to swipe up a heavily discounted security package may pay off. Then again, nothing’s written in stone, and promotions vary from provider to provider.
Prime Day
Let’s not forget Amazon’s annual Prime Day. Every year, thousands of items go on sale for Amazon Prime members, including products from our favorite home security brands. (Some years, we’ve actually seen Prime Day deals top Black Friday sales.) This year Prime Day fell on July 12, by the way. But don’t worry — if you missed it, Prime Day happens every year. The most likely candidate for 2023 is, you guessed it, July 12.
FYI: On Prime Day 2022, Amazon claims to have sold over 300 million items in 20 countries, saving members $1.7 billion.1
Black Friday and Cyber Monday: How to Get the Best Home Security Promotions & Packages
The real trick to Black Friday and Cyber Monday is timing your purchase, and that’s not always easy. Every home security company is feeling out the market leading up to the big days, trying different promotions out — so you may find a really tempting deal that’s literally here today and gone tomorrow. Which can add to the angst.
Rest assured, we monitor Black Friday promotions a few times daily so you won’t miss out on anything. Right now, we’re collecting the best pre-Black Friday sales on the web (take a look up top), along with any Black Friday intel we can find.

Home security companies are constantly throwing out discounts to sweeten the deal. One way they do that is with special coupon codes.
To maximize your chances of snatching up a coupon, first, narrow your search down to one or two home security companies you really like and sign up for their newsletters. That’s probably the best way to score an exclusive coupon in time for Black Friday. (Social media is a close second.)

Military and Senior Citizen Discounts
Military
Some home security brands offer sizable home security discounts for active military, veterans, and/or military family members. These could come in the form of reduced rates on services, free equipment and features, or contract exceptions.
Senior Citizens
A few home security companies offer exclusive discounts for senior citizens. Lively’s Jitterbug smartphones are on sale for 50 percent off at the moment, for example. But the most popular home security features for seniors are alert buttons and two-way communication features that give older folks instant access to medical professionals and loved ones. This Black Friday we’re likely to see some substantial discounts on those products and services, too
If you’re in one of these two special groups, your best bet for landing a home security discount is to contact a company representative and ask. Many times discounts for special groups aren’t advertised on websites at all.
