Burglary in Missouri
Our data revealed that Missouri has seen a 38% drop in burglaries, from 42,822 down to 26,414 incidents. The crime peaked in 2008 at 45,763 break-ins before beginning to trend downward in 2011. Our experts note these offenses comprise approximately 16% of property crime in the Show Me State.
Larceny in Missouri
Another Missouri crime in decline is theft. Incidents have fallen by 28%, from 159,288 to 114,460. Since we started recording data in 2005, larceny reports have continuously dropped annually. It’s still an issue for the state, with offenses comprising roughly 71% of property crime.
Car Theft in Missouri
We’ve noticed a decline in car theft in Missouri since we began observing. Total incidences have dropped from 25,699 to 21,072. While motor vehicle theft currently represents approximately 13% of all property crime statewide, recent stats show a slight uptick worth monitoring.
