Burglary in Idaho
Representing roughly 21% of Idaho’s property crime, burglary has declined substantially over the years studied. Our researchers documented incidents falling from 8,066 to 3,927, which is a notable 51% improvement. The data reveals consistent year-over-year progress in protecting Idaho homes.
Larceny in Idaho
Theft dropped significantly across Idaho—down 41% from 27,606 to 16,295 incidents. Our team found larceny accounts for roughly 72% of property offenses. The steady decline reflects effective prevention strategies in both urban and rural communities throughout the Gem State.
Car Theft in Idaho
Car theft in Idaho is another crime on the decline. Incidents reduced by 46% over the observation period, dropping from 2,884 incidents to 1,571. Motor vehicle theft represents approximately 7% of all property crime statewide. As law enforcement and community efforts continue, we hope to see a continued reduction in vehicle crime across Idaho.
