Wyoming Crime Stats

Our researchers have analyzed Wyoming property crime rates, breaking down burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft trends statewide. Here are our findings.

Burglary in Wyoming

Wyoming experienced an impressive 42% decline in burglary and break-ins. It started the 15-year observation period with 2,426 cases and ended it with 1,396 incidents. Our analysis shows these offenses account for roughly 15% of property crime in the state. The Equality State’s consistent downward burglary trend reflects strong community awareness and adoption of modern security strategies in the area.

Larceny in Wyoming

Wyoming also saw theft decline substantially. It spiralled down by 46%, from 12,905 to 6,984 incidents. Our researchers note, however, that larceny still accounts for roughly 77% of property crime. It’s the most common type of property crime in the Equality State. Still, the 46% represents one of the most significant improvements among Western states we studied.

Car Theft in Wyoming

Wyoming experienced minimal change in vehicle theft. It saw just a 4% decline from 739 to 713 incidents. In fact, car theft activity peaked at 839 cases. These offenses account for about 8% of property crime, with rates remaining relatively stable throughout the Equality State.
