Burglary in Ohio
Ohio has seen a substantial 56% reduction in home break-ins over the past 15 years. Starting at 100,183 incidents in 2005 and peaking at 112,901 in 2011, burglaries declined to 43,894 in our latest findings. Today, these offenses comprise roughly 18% of property crime across the Buckeye State, demonstrating the improvements made in home security.
Larceny in Ohio
Since 2005, Ohio has seen a steady reduction in theft incidents. Offenses have declined mostly year-on-year, with some outliers. The numbers are still quite high, though, making up roughly 74% of property offenses throughout the state.
Car Theft in Ohio
Car theft incidents in Ohio have improved significantly since 2005. The state has seen a 55% decrease over the past 15 years, from 41,471 to 18,672. Incidents had started to rise in 2016, but have since stabilized.
