Our experts identified the peak at 3,243 break-ins in 2016, and the best result in 2010. Today, home invasions account for approximately 17% of property crime in the Peace Garden State.
Larceny in North Dakota
Like burglaries, North Dakota has experienced a 10% increase in theft. Our researchers tracked incidents rising from 9,732 to 10,666, peaking at 12,195 in 2016. Larceny incidents have been steadily rising since 2005, and now make up approximately 71% of property crime in the state.
Car Theft in North Dakota
Car theft in North Dakota also presents a significant challenge. Since 2005, motor vehicle thefts have increased by 67% from 1,073 to 1,792. The good news is that incidents are down from their peak of 1,964. These offenses are still approximately 12% of all property crimes.
