Our security experts have reviewed Nebraska property crime rates from the past 15 years, looking closely at burglary, larceny, and vehicle theft statistics. Many trends were discovered. These are some of the most important.
Burglary in Nebraska
Nebraska home invasions have been cut in half since 2005, declining from 9,408 to 4,745 incidents. The peak occurred in 2006 at 9,535 burglaries, before steadily dropping year on year. Our analysis reveals these offenses comprise roughly 12% of the Cornhusker State’s property crime total.
Larceny in Nebraska
Theft incidents haven’t dropped as significantly as home invasions, but Nebraska has achieved a 34% reduction in this crime. Numbers dropped from a peak of 45,359 in 2005 to 29,719 in our latest report, comprising roughly 75% of property crime. The data is a testament to meaningful progress across the Cornhusker State.
