Larceny, the dominant property crime at roughly 79% of all incidents, peaked at 22,045 before declining. The 15-year crime trend shows gradual progress in theft reduction across Delaware communities.
Car Theft in Delaware
Car theft in Delaware declined 32% across our observation period, dropping from 2,349 to 1,604. We noticed that motor vehicle thefts peaked at 2,884, representing approximately 7% of all property crime. Despite declining from its peak, the trend has increased in recent years.
