Vector Security is a part of the United State’s oldest insurance company – The Philadelphia Contributionship (TPC) – which was founded in 1752 by Benjamin Franklin and others. Together, they offer the U.S. and Canada some of the best home security and automation services across North America, ranked number five in the U.S. by some organizations.
They utilize a network of authorized dealers and official branch offices to design, install, and monitor personalized security and home automation systems for more than 300,000 customers across North America. As a leader in the security industry, Vector provides intelligent award-winning solutions and service.
In addition to winning a Super Service Award from Angie’s List in 2013, Vector Security consistently ranks as a top home security system provider.
One major issue with Vector Security that was discovered during research is their lack of transparency in pricing. Their website does not offer potential customers with a way to compare prices unless they submit a form to Vector with their name, address, email address, and phone number. If you are not in an area the Vector services – like this writer – you will be told as much and denied access to their pricing guide.
Based on research into Vector’s extensive Knowledge Base, it was determined that the monthly charges for security system monitoring vary greatly from customer to customer based on their unique system. These charges are tied to a contract ranging from 36 to 60 months in length. They do not offer month to month or one-year contracts for service.
The Vector Security website does not list any prices and it does not offer any special pricing for seniors, military personnel, or other groups that traditionally see discounts. In addition, an extensive search of Vector Security distributors failed to reveal any deals or sale pricing either.
Vector Security was first established as an independent company in 1974. They were acquired by TPC in 1986 and incorporated into their large network of security service providers with their corporate headquarters located in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. They provide residential and commercial video surveillance, intrusion protection, smart home automation solutions, and environmental protection equipment and services.
Vector employs an authorized dealer program that allows independent dealers to offer Vector Security Solutions as if they were a branch of Vector itself. Vector Security then monitors these products and services along with those sold directly through their corporation. Read our full review of Vector Security here.
