Features & Technology

Live Streaming Video

You can instantly see what your cameras see remotely.

View All Your Security Cameras at Once

If you have more than one video camera in your security system, then you can view them all on a single screen.

Remote Access Via All Devices with Internet Access

You aren’t limited to mobile devices alone when it comes to controlling your security system – computers work too! This app works with the home security devices and the smart home equipment that Slomin’s offers.

Central Monitoring

Your security system is connected to Slomin’s monitoring center. They will notify the authorities during alarms and help you get the assistance that you need. They check-in with you when the alarm goes off, and you can stop false alarms by giving them a password that verifies that you’re okay.

Z-Wave Compatibility

If you use Z-Wave for your home automation system, then you can seamlessly integrate your Slomin’s security system.

Create Home Automation Scenes

Configure everything exactly as you’d like it for a scenario, and then set it with a single tap.

Pan, Tilt and Zoom

Get a better view of the video stream by adjusting the camera based on your commands.

Ease of Use

Slomin’s includes professional installation of the system to ensure that it’s set up quickly and correctly. The technicians start out by giving you an in-home security review, so you can get the right system for your lifestyle. They will walk you through how to use the system and answer any questions you might have about using it. A complete instruction manual will act as your quick reference guide if you run into any problems or forget how to use a feature. The learning curve is higher than some other home security systems, but they make it as easy as possible to understand what you’re doing.

Customer Service

Slomin’s uses an all in-house staff that is taken through an extensive training program, as well as given background checks and going through licensing procedures. You receive 24/7 monitoring for your system and the person answering your alerts will be able to help you through any situation. You can schedule an appointment, send in a request form, call the company, or send them an email with questions.

The amount you pay varies based on the equipment that you end up adding to your system. The base pricing starts at $29.95 per month, which includes the 24/7 monitoring service with features such as immediate responses to your alerts and a verification process that stops false alarms. This security system isn’t the lowest price on the market, but the equipment is solid and you’re getting excellent service at every step of the way.

Slomin’s Shield system is a comprehensive home security package that is also well-suited to integrating with a Z-Wave based smart home ecosystem. The base package includes the following components:

  • Touch-screen control panel: This is your connection to the central monitoring station and the base hub for all the components of the Slomin’s Shield.
  • Motion detector: These sensors look for changes in infrared in the room or hallway to determine whether something is moving in that area when it shouldn’t be.
  • Three door sensors: Secure multiple doors in your home and find out when they open and close.
  • Battery back-up: Even if the power goes out, you’re still protected against unwanted intruders.
  • Yard signs and window decals: Let potential criminals know that you have a comprehensive security system in place to deter them.

Add-On Equipment

You can expand your base package with this add-on equipment.

Video Camera

When you want a real-time view of what’s going on, a live-stream camera is a must for your home security system. It includes two-way talk, stores up to five days of video recordings and starts recording whenever it detects motion.

Keychain Remote

You don’t need to do the awkward security panel shuffle when you first come in the door and need to disarm the security system. This remote turns that process into one button press.

Environmental Sensors

Optional temperature, water, CO2, and fire sensors can keep an eye on the environmental threats to your home.

Slomin’s Security systems offer a lot through a fully customized experience and a commitment to customer service. These aren’t the cheapest systems out there, but they do a respectable job at working with your budget, and you end up with a home security and automation setup.
