MobileHelp Duo Ratings

For seniors looking for a simple way to communicate when they need help, the MobileHelp Duo is one solution. It offers a cellular-connected system that is available both in-home and on the go. It doesn’t require the user to have any type of landline to work. This system is designed to provide fast, reliable help when it is necessary.

  • Fast response time
  • Mobile and at home base
  • Two-way communication
  • GPS and cellular connectivity

  • Pricy system
  • Fall detection costs more
  • Not waterproof

For those who want a way to call for help on the go no matter where they are, the MobileHelp Duo is an excellent choice overall. It is designed to be reliable and fast-acting if there is an emergency with a 24/7 emergency monitoring team always on hand. Using the system is as easy as pressing a single button. The overall design is durable enough to handle most needs.

It provides monitoring both at home and while traveling outside the home. Because it uses the AT&T network, it is possible to use this device no matter where you are in the U.S.

Features & Technology

MobileHelp Duo offers some key features that make it worth a closer look for many busy people. Here are a few of them.

Two-Way Communication

If the individual using the MobileHelp Duo system needs help, they press a button to get it. They are then able to hear and speak to the operator to talk about what is happening and to request medical support. The speaker is loud so that they can hear well.

Base-station and On-the-Go Help

The MobileHelp Duo system offers a mobile help button that a person can take with them wherever they go. There is also a home base station that also provides a button that the user can press to request help. This flexibility allows users who are busy to always have access to the help they need.

GPS and Cell Connection

The MobileHelp Duo operates using AT&T’s cellular connection. This is a nationwide network with good reliability, which means the system is likely to work anywhere the individual travels within the United States. The mobile device also has a built-in GPS system, which can help with tracking the use if he or she is not able to communicate their need.

U.S.-Based Monitoring

The company uses a U.S. based emergency monitoring service. This makes it easy to communicate any type of concern readily once that button is pressed. That monitoring service is also available 24/7 for the user’s convenience.

Automatic Fall Detection

The basic plan does not include fall detection. However, users can add an automatic fall detection button for an additional $10 per month. If this button is available, it can detect when a person falls and then call for help. This means medical help is available even if they are unable to press a button to call for it.

Lockbox Included

The system comes with a free lockbox. This can allow for the emergency personnel to gain access to a home key or key information if they have to respond to the home where a person is unable to get up.

Ease of Use

The system is very easy to use. It includes a basic design with a single, large, gray button for the user to press in order to receive the help they need. It is also designed to be very reliable, without the need to press the button frequently to get help.

Customer Service

MobileHelp has an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau. The company offers a variety of tools to help with troubleshooting if there is a concern including a frequently asked questions page, a chat feature on the website, and a toll-free number to call for help.

There is no activation fee here and no long-term contract. The system itself is $443.40. This is an annual rate and pays for the monitoring service as well as the equipment included in the system. There are no additional costs to it, and there is also free ground shipping provided. Additional features can be added to it, including MobileHelp Connect, an online set of tools for monitoring health.

The highly durable system is designed to be very easy to use. It has a larger base station for use at home that looks and operates much like an older style answering machine. It has just a few key buttons to press. The mobile device is smaller, though a bit bulkier than other devices.

The MobileHelp Duo is an excellent choice for those who want a reliable and easy to use way to get emergency help. Though it is costly, it can be a good option for those who want a few-frill design with two-way communication and 24/7 monitoring support. The system uses AT&T’s cellular network which means coverage is good for the most part no matter where users are located.
