Features & Technology

Trick People Into Thinking You’re Home

You can use built-in noises to make intruders assume that someone is in the home. They will go and hit someone else’s supposedly empty house.

Smart Intrusion Detection

This home security system cuts down on the false alarms through intelligent notifications. It learns your schedule and even what your family looks like so it can identify unknown cars and faces.

Netatmo Connect

Netatmo supports a wide range of third-party integration, including IFTTT, Samsung, Weather Underground, SmartThings and GreenIQ.

Voice Control

You can use Google Assistant and Apple Homekit to have voice control over your system. You even have the option of sending a command via Facebook Messenger if you prefer.

Looking through an entire day’s worth of footage is time-consuming. Netatmo has a feature that condenses everything down and allows you to quickly review what went on.

Ease of Use

The installation for Netatmo cameras is simple and straightforward. You don’t need a professional assistant to put any of the devices in place. Using them is just as easy, with an app that is clear and to the point.

Customer Service

Netatmo’s customer service options include a self-service help center that allows you to easily search your questions. Helpful articles cover many common queries so you don’t have to worry about finding the time to connect to customer service. The company doesn’t appear to have a customer service number you should contact. Instead, you submit a help ticket and describe your problem to the team.

The pricing for Netatmo home security cameras puts it at the mid-range of the market. The price is in-line with the features that it offers, but if you’re looking for the most affordable option you may want to look at other companies.

You’re covered by a two-year warranty, which is nice to see, as many companies only offer a year warranty. You don’t need a paid subscription to use your cameras, and if you’re dissatisfied with them, you can get a refund within 30-days.

Smart Outdoor Camera $299.99

One feature that’s particularly useful with Netatmo cameras is the smart motion detection. This weatherproof, outdoor camera can tell the difference between people, cars and animals. You get an alert on your smartphone when a trespasser gets detected. A live streaming view puts you right in the action so you know what’s going on. Customize your Alert-Zones so you’re only getting notifications for the areas that matter, with a detection range of 65 feet. . You can zoom in on the video to see even more detail.

Night vision keeps you protected after the sun goes down, and you can set the camera to turn on its floodlight automatically or manually. A straightforward installation makes this outdoor camera easy to install. You can put it wherever a current outdoor light fixture is. The aluminum housing stands up to the worst that the weather can throw at it.

Video gets stored locally on a microSD card, which is included in the camera. You also have the option of saving the videos to your Dropbox account or sending it to a personal FTP server.

Smart Indoor Camera $199.99

Much like the outdoor camera, you have an intelligent motion detection system that can recognize faces and alert you when someone unknown comes into your house. If the camera hears a smoke alarm, security alarm or any other alarm in the home, it starts recording video and sends you a notification so you know that something is going on.

A privacy setting lets you toggle the camera off and on as needed. You can also teach it your loved one’s faces, so they don’t get recorded every time they move in the house. The camera also includes pet detection technology so you can prevent false alarms. You may also choose to use this feature to say hi to your pet and look after them during the day. A 130-degree view helps you catch everything that’s going on, and the 1080p HD recording means that you’re getting plenty of details.

You can store videos on the microSD card that comes with the camera or put it on Dropbox or FTP.

Smart Door and Windows Sensors

These sensors can give you early warning that someone is trying to get into your home. They go on your windows and doors, so if one of them opens unexpectedly, you get a notification. They don’t even need to open the window all the way before the alarm gets tripped. The sensors are sensitive enough for the vibrations to create an alert.

All you need to do is stick a sensor onto the area that you’d like to protect. You can integrate these sensors with the smart indoor camera. It supports up to 12 sensors for each camera that you have in the house.

Smart Indoor Siren

Scare off burglars before they steal anything from you with this 110 dB alarm. It connects to your Netatmo Smart Camera and goes off if it sees an unknown face inside your home. You immediately get an alert on your phone and a video that shows you what’s going on.

This alarm learns your schedule so that it arms and disarms itself without you needing to manually input anything. You have the option to use a battery operator or hardwired version of this siren. It also comes with noises that simulate someone being at home.

If the intruder tries to disable the siren, you get a notification. If you’re watching the live feed, you can also manually set off the siren as needed.

Smart Smoke Alarm

Upgrade your smoke alarm with a smarter version. You get a 10-year battery and notifications via real-time alerts on your smartphone. You don’t need to wire your alarm in. Instead, you simply put it on the ceiling and get the app.

It has an automatic self-check feature so it keeps an eye on its battery and the sensors that detect the smoke. If it finds a problem, you get an instant notice. If the alarm accidentally goes off, you can toggle it off from the Netatmo app.

An 85 dB siren alerts anyone in the house who didn’t see the smartphone notification.

Netatmo offers a lot of features that combine robust home security with quality of life features. While the prices sit in the middle of the pack, the third-party integration support and the seamless way the devices work together makes it well worth the cost.
